Introducing Walter

Walter is a good friend of mine and we used to worked together in Microsoft. He is now a CTO of am ISV in cyberjaya and he has all the while been very passionate about web technologies and it’s security. A regular speaker on web security issues, his eval score in events like Tech.Ed is much higher even compared to more experienced speakers.

He has got a blog for quite sometime at Live Space talking about web development as well as hacking websites. Recently he has been quite active blogging so I urge my readers to check out his at http://walterwws.spaces.live.com/

Tech.Ed 2008 SEA coming to town!

te08

The mother of all geek conferences in Malaysia (and maybe South East Asia) is coming back to Kuala Lumpur from 11-14 August. This year will focus on new products such as Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008. So again there will be tonnes of tracks about those products for both IT Pros and developers.

In fact you can register now at the official website as a super early bird price now at RM649. Do take advantage of it because the actual price will be RM 1299.00 and you will be getting huge discount also. Also watch out for upcoming Microsoft events because there might be more goodies if you sign up for Tech.Ed in those events. For instance, you can go to TechNet MSDN Road Show to check out more as I will be speaking there as well.

4 cool new features about SQL Server 2008 codename Katmai

Time Chapman, a SQL Server DBA written about the features he likes in SQL Server 2008, the 4th one in his list is my favorite too for a developer viewpoint. Change Data Capture makes it easier to create audit log components if you use of stored procedure for data tier coding.

September’s TechEd Southeast Asia 2007 features a few topics too about Katmai both for DBAs and developers.

Enterprise Data Management Track

  1. BI enhancement in SQL Server 2008
  2. Next release of SQL Server: Data Warehouse Enhancement
  3. SQL Server 2008: Overview
  4. SQL Server 2008 Manageability Overview
